RESIDENTS IN THE SACRAMENTO REGION TO VOTE FOR AREA IMPROVEMENTSDURING EXPERIENCES
Traveling Exhibit Will Visit Nine Locations from April 10th to May 10th
Sacramento, CA (April 8, 2008)–Sacramento area residents will have a unique opportunity to vote for where they’d like to see future investments made in the region at Experiences, a free 380 square foot exhibit touring six counties from April 10th to May 10th.
Experiences is presented by the Partnership for Prosperity, an effort started by the Sacramento Area Commerce & Trade Organization (SACTO), the Sacramento Metro Chamber, Valley Vision and 34 economic development organizations, to build a 3-5 year collaborative economic development strategy for the six-county region.
“Partnership for Prosperity created Experiences as a way to engage the community on a very local level and find out what parts of our region most need improvements,” said Chris Aguirre, Relations Manager at Valley Vision. “It’s important that we continue working together to improve our quality of life so the region can grow, attract and retain the brightest executives, employees, entrepreneurs and companies.”
The exhibit is split into eight stations highlighting the following civic amenities: Agri-tourism, River Walk, Recreation, Performing Arts, Kid-Friendly Destinations, Sports & Entertainment, Museums and Art Galleries and Town Square. When visitors enter the exhibit they will be given ticket stubs to use as votes for improvements in each category. Partnership for Prosperity will then use the exhibit’s findings as a basis for their advocacy efforts.
People who are interested in voting can visit Experiences at the following locations: Auburn Art Walk on April 10th, Memorial Auditorium on April 12th, Sunrise Mall on April 16th, Roseville Galleria on April 25th, Placerville Town Hall on April 26th, Davis Farmer’s Market on April 30th, Radisson in the Grove on May 7th, Cesar Chavez Park on May 8th and Second Saturday on May 10th.
For those unable to physically visit the exhibit, a comprehensive website also allows residents to vote in the eight civic amenity categories. To cast a vote, go to www.pfpexperiences.com. The site also lists specifics about tour locations, dates and times.
